Community Service Gap Year Program

Make GLA Gap Year part of your gap experience; join us from as short as 1 month to as long as 9 months.  Whether you work with women’s empowerment groups, teach at a village school, or provide care for orphans or those in need,  you will learn local strategies to tackle today's global issues.

We facilitate community service gap year programs.  Students volunteer with grassroots organizations, hospitals, clinics, and non-profits in Guatemala and Tanzania.  In addition to volunteering, students will also learn about the country and its culture through guest speakers, cultural seminars and hands-on workshops.

Most importantly, we provide the in-country support to allow you to have a safe and productive gap year experience.  From orientation, training, lodging, meals, and ongoing staff support – we are there for you.
