English Language Teaching

Work on special summer English language teaching programs (oral teaching) with Beijing area schools/special centers. Local students will be at a variety of age levels and prior ability according to placement. Some programs may be geared to local adult learners.

Requirements

Native speakers of English from USA, Canada, UK and similar. At least 20 years of age and completed high school diploma or equivalent, and normally at least first two years of college study. College degree preferred or teaching English qualification. Prior experience of teaching English an advantage, but not essential. Knowledge of Mandarin is not required. Enthusiasm and patience is important.

You, our staff and the other interns live together in shared rooms in a university dormitory provided by a local University in Beijing. The dormitory has a cafeteria and common areas. You’ll share a room with just one other person and have a private bathroom and shower. You will take public transportation to work, try the local cuisine and quickly adapt yourself to the thrills and realities of life in China's capital city.

Breakfast will be served Monday through Friday, but lunches are on your own. Most interns will eat at their workplace or will sometimes be invited to eat out with their co-workers. Dinner is served from Monday to Thursday, but not on Friday, Saturday or Sunday; this allows you to explore local restaurants or travel on the weekends.
