India - Women's Empowerment Internship

Tuition: $5,995

Duration: 7 weeks  (1 week orientation, 6 weeks internship)

Location:  Jaipur, India

You’ll be based in Jaipur (known as the Pink City) and will soon see why Jaipur considered one of India’s best planned pre-modern cities.

Our staff will pick you up at the Sanganer Airport and take you to our home-base. The first week will include an in-depth orientation covering local business etiquette, health and safety, cultural norms, and a crash course in survival Hindi. After a week of intensive orientation, you will work full-time at your internship for the next six weeks. During that time, we’ll go on a couple of excursions, learn more about the issues facing India, connect with social innovators, and build new friendships.

Breakfast will be served every day, but lunches are on your own. Most interns will eat at their workplace or will sometimes be invited to eat out with their co-workers. Dinner is served from Monday to Thursday, but not on Friday, Saturday or Sunday; this allows you to explore local restaurants or travel on the weekends.

Excursions

We will take two weekend trips from Jaipur. The first will be a trip to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage site considered to be the “Jewel of Muslim Art”. Our second weekend trip will be a visit to the Hindu pilgrimage town of Pushkar, which is a cultural destination where we will also do a camel Safari with overnight camping.
