Tanzania - Marketing Internship

Duration: 7 weeks  (1 week orientation, 6 weeks internship)

Price: $5,395

Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Imagine every dollar that you spend on marketing is a dollar you you take away from those in need. That is the kind of pressure you feel when marketing for a small nonprofit foundation. You must be creative and figure out how to have the most impact and return using the least amount of resources possible.

You will join a group of other interns dedicated to making a difference in Tanzania.  After a week of intensive orientation, you will work full-time at your internship for the next six weeks.

Interns live together in a house just outside of Arusha and take the local "dala-dala" into town to go to work.

Arusha is also the jumping off point for most wildlife safaris and is only a couple of hours away from Mount Kilimanjaro.  There's no shortage of amazing places to visit on the weekends.

Markteting with a small nonprofit is an excellent way for young marketers to learn how to do a lot with little resources.

The marketing internship is a chance for you to build your marketing experience with a local non-profit. You will assist a local foundation market their website as well as write content for newsletters, and bulletins.

The community foundation provides grants to marginalized groups of people to improve their quality of life. They are strong advocates of the rights of citizens to have access to education, health services and be participants in community activities.

You, our staff and the other interns live together in a house just outside of Arusha, at the edge of a traditional village. Our home-base is a secure compound with an eating area, a small yard and a living room. You’ll share a room with just one other person and have a private bathroom and shower. In the mornings you can take the local "dala-dala" minibus into town to go to work.

Breakfast will be served Monday through Friday, but lunches are on your own. Most interns will eat at their workplace or will sometimes be invited to eat out with their co-workers. Dinner is served from Monday to Thursday, but not on Friday, Saturday or Sunday; this allows you to explore local restaurants or travel on the weekends.
