Terra Intern Abroad removes barriers that traditionally prevent students from being able to experience developing countries, as well as barriers that often prevent parents from allowing their children to live abroad.

We realize there is much more to a summer than a great internship. You want the peace of mind of knowing that your son or daughter has arranged nearly all logistics and has a strong safety net to ensure a worry-free and safe summer at each of our international internship sites.

Compared to many semester or year abroad programs at a foreign university, international internships are a very affordable alternative to experience a foreign country and gain valuable work experience at the same time.

Studying abroad is certainly a great way to extend the academic experience, however an international internship gets the student out of the classroom and into real world situations in developing countries where they will have an opportunity to broaden their work experience, apply their skills and build their character while making a meaningful difference to their host internship organization.

A particular point we would like to make is that Terra Intern Abroad does not charge for the internship – while the tuition covers the cost of our staff to review applicant resumes and coordinate with various partner organizations to ensure a structured and productive internship is available, Terra Intern Abroad does not charge the host organizaiton a fee.  Intern tuition is primarily used for the costs of providing a clean and safe living arrangement as well as hiring and training support staff whose mission is to ensure you have a safe and productive internship experience.  You will have dedicated staff who are available 24-hours per day, 7 days a week as well as the knowledge that you will arrive in-country and have a safe, clean, comfortable living arrangement already set up for you.

* Most program sites include breakfast everyday and dinner from Monday to Friday.  Lunch is not included in order to allow interns to eat at the workplace with their colleagues.  Lunch and dinner is not included on weekends as many interns do independent excursions during the weekend.

** Ground transportation includes airport pickup and drop-off, transportation for all scheduled group activities and excursions.  Transportation to and from the work site is usually on public transportation unless otherwise noted.  We provide practice transportation runs and detailed directions to and from work

International airfare to and from the program city, costs associated with obtaining a visa or immunizations (when needed) and personal expenses are not included
